Frequently Asked Questions...

Q.Is there Internet in Sayulita, Mexico?
A.Yes, traveling to Sayulita does not disconnect you from the outside world! There are many internet cafes within short walking distances of Casa Club Sayulita.  At these internet cafes you can use either your laptop or one of their high speed computers for a reasonable fee.

Q.Can I make international phone calls from Mexico?
A.Many guests find that their cell phones work in Sayulita, provided they have called their cell phone carrier to activate international capability prior to traveling to Mexico. Public phones in town can also be used for international phone calls.

Q.Can I drink the water in Sayulita, Mexico?
A.No, don't drink the water. In each room, we provide 5-gallon jugs of bottled water and will replenish them throughout your stay. We recommend that you only drink bottled water, brush your teeth with bottled water and cook exclusively with bottled water, even when brewing your coffee.
Restaurants will only serve bottled water and use "safe" ice...so no need to worry there.

Q.Will I need to rent a car in Sayulita, Mexico?
A.It is definitely not necessary to rent a car in order to enjoy your Sayulita vacation.  In fact, we feel that letting someone else do the driving is the most relaxing way to go. Taxi's, car services and bus routes are abundant and easy to use. Let someone else, who knows the roads, do the navigating!

Q.What about money and exchange rates?
A.You will want to have cash when traveling to Mexico. Sayulita is a small town and many locals do not accept credit cards, with the exception of a few restaurants and gift shops. There are several ATMs in Sayulita, although an average ATM transaction is between 30-100 pesos, when they have money. But you cannot necessarily count on ATMs actually having money in them, so be sure to have a backup. There are several Sayulita exchange services with rates roughly comparable to the airport.

Q.What about surf boards & rental equipment?
A.Surf boards, boogie boards, and snorkel equipment can be rented at several places on the Sayulita beach. You will NOT find jet skis or parasailing in the Sayulita Bay, but for those interested, there are many opportunities in Puerto Vallarta for those adventures. Let our concierge know what you are interested in and he help can make arrangements for you.

Q.Are there medical facilities in Sayulita, Mexico?
A.Yes, there is a 24/7 medical clinic located in the town plaza. If someone is too ill or too injured to go to them, they will come to you. There is also a hospital in San Francisco, which is only 4 miles up the main highway. Doctors run several of the pharmacies in town if you just need advice or even prescription medicine.

Q.Does Mexico have scorpions?
A.Yes, but we do spray on a monthly basis and therefore see very few. The key is prevention. Always shake out clothes and bath towels before putting them on or near your body. Follow a few tips on your Sayulita, Mexico vacation to avoid them. Scorpions like dark damp places, so wear flip flops at night, and always shake out closed-toe shoes like tennis shoes before putting them on.
